PESL designs represent the cutting edge of technology and as such we always ensure industrially
sensitive ideas or designs are protected against piracy. As a result we cannot publicise
details of our designs, although we do try to showcase our work where ever possible. Two
of our latest projects are listed below. We hope these designs will highlight our design expertise
and ability to work with major client concerns.

Momote Ltd specialises in developing software for mobile phones and Personal Digital Assistants
PDAs). Momote required a hardware component of a mobile communications system they were
developing, but didn't have the necessary internal skills to produce a hardware prototype in a
cost effective manner.
In order to address Momote's problem, PESL prototyped a hardware device called a Proof of Location, or
POL Box. Through the use of a low-power microcontroller, PESL were able to produce a simple
and usable POL design, which included a keyboard and 4-digit 7-segment display. The firmware
developed utilised a public key encryption algorithm as well as driving the keyboard and display.
This POL box is itself a device, which when used in conjunction with a mobile phone, can prove that a
particular point has been visited by the user of that phone. This technology is primarily
for applications in the security industry, where a security guard might be visiting way-points on
their route.
The
consultancy we received from PESL allowed us to expand our market
beyond what was possible with just software. Their approach was
professional and thorough and the end product was exactly what we
needed.
