At PESL we believe in splitting research and development into 6 core stages, from initial concept through to volume production.  This approach adds structure to our R & D services and allows us to manage projects from the simple through to the complex. Click on each of the R & D stages below to find out more about that stage and what PESL can do for you.

We would advise potential clients to identify the stage of the development cycle their project is at, in particular with respect to our R & D structure above.  This approach reduces the chance of repeating work and generally helps us to help you.  Remember the more information you can give us, the more we can give back to you.

In addition to our research and development services, PESL can provide both training and knowledge transfer for small R & D departments through our unique One on One information zone.

One on One knowledge transfer is a unique approach to R & D that PESL is currently pioneering.   Rather than being engaged in day to day R & D activities, PESL instead provides the 'know-how' in order to help a client overcome technical issues, but only when they arise.  This approach to R & D reduces the client contact time, thus making the whole R & D process more cost effective and efficient.

One on One training is different to One on One knowledge transfer in that it is based upon more traditional training techniques.  However, this approach still provides a client with an ideal opportunity to learn a new technology or solve a complex engineering problem in a cost effective and painless manner.  Moreover training can be tailored to your specific requirements, at a time and place that best fits your schedule.

Please refer to our technologies page for detailed technical information on our training and knowledge transfer.  Please contact us if you are interested in our i-zone One on One programs, or require further information.

PESL prices are highly competitive, but can vary considerably given our diverse range of services.  For a free quote please contact us, outlining your requirements.   In general our services can be classified as follows:
  • R & D at a fixed cost where the scope of the project is well defined.
  • R & D on a time and materials basis where additional resources are required or the scope of the project is less well defined.
  • As a percentage of sales or similar arrangement. This is usual when PESL manages production!
  • Training at a fixed cost where the breadth and depth of the training is well defined.
  • One to one training on a hourly basis.

Our clients will be vested with the full benefits of any process, discovery or improvement arising directly from the R & D work done and relating to the subject of such work.

Due to our highly competitive fees and to the significant capital invested in every project, PESL would normally expect to retain some of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) arising (if any) during an R & D project.
